Gevrey-Chambertin En Créot

Gevrey-Chambertin-En-Créot-Marchand-Grillot-R.jpg

2017 - Warm spring with frost mostly avoided. Hot/warm weather for spring and summer leading to an early harvest. Picking dates are essential due to the risk of rain. A plentiful harvest. Fruit from a parcel within the stony soils of Le Créot, in the neighbouring commune of Brochon. Vines were planted in 1974. 100% de-stemmed fruit with 16 months aging in oak, 30% new.

Tasting Note: 2017 - Fresh aromas of ripe cherry, red & black plum with hints of red flowers. Medium-bodied, supple, mineral on the mid-palate, fresh acidity, tannins with slight grip due to youth, and oak spice on the finish.
