Saumur Blanc Les Chapaudaises

The vines used here are coming from the best part of the vineyard with south-facing exposure. The vines were planted in 2006 on Riparia Gloire rootstock known for its balanced yields and transmission of terroir. In this part, the sandy loam soils extend 40cm until hitting the tuffeau limestone bedrock. The wine undergoes whole cluster fermentation in stainless steel tanks before it is racked into barrel, where it spends 12 months. Before bottled, the wine is racked again into stainless to rest for an additional 6 months.
