Saumur Blanc Brézé

0.5 ha Chenin vines planted in 1960s, located in L’Ardillon, a single south/southwest-facing parcel in Brézé. The clay loam topsoil is about 80cm deep before hitting the limestone tuffeau. Sorting is done directly in the vineyard. Whole cluster pressing in stainless. It did not undergo malolactic fermentation due to low pH and cold cellar temperatures. It’s then placed into barrel where it rests for 12 months on fine lees. It once again goes into stainless steel to rest for a further 6 months before bottling.
