Schoenenbourg Grand Cru

A field blend of all Alsatian grapes grown (planted between 1952-1982) in the Schoenenbourg Grand Cru in Riquewihr. The site is a cooler, late-ripening microclimate that results in frequent noble rot development and is quite steep with a south-facing slope. Soils are a combination of light, airy, friable topsoil on a clay-basted fertile substratum and are a mix of Keuper marl, dolomite rock, and gypsum. Aged for 12 months in large, ancient foudres.

Tasting Note: Aromas of white peach, lemon zest, pineapple, apple with notes of honey, flint, white pepper, chamomile on the nose. Intense, powerful, and rich on the palate, a great fruit core, vibrant acidity, fine tannin, harmonious, silky texture, medium dry with a long floral, saline finish.
