Côtes Du Roussillon Villages Numero Uno

A blend of older vine (55 years) Syrah and old vine (50+ years) Carignan. The majority of this blend is Syrah. Grapes are all sourced from the village of Caramany, where vines grow on gneiss based soils. Grapes are de-stemmed and fermented with indigenous yeast, aged in barrel for 12 months.

Tasting Note: Aromas of dark plum, cassis, black cherry with hints of black pepper, game, mineral, violets, sage, dark chocolate on the nose. Full, rich and deep on the palate with a black fruit & earthy core, good acidity, firm tannin, good length on a spicy & mineral finish. Quite layered and complex and will definitely benefit from a good decant.
