Elaboraciones Ancestrales Tinto

Tintilla and Baboso Negro grapes (50/50) from ungrafted vines. The Tintilla is grown on clay soils of the very steep Laderas de Teno vineyard in El Palmar valley, 650m above sea level. The Baboso Negro is from the sandy soils of the Juandana vineyard in La Guancha, 400m above the sea. Fermentation includes whole clusters and each variety is vinified separately with indigenous yeasts in a 1500L oak vat. After the ferments are complete the wine is blended together and matured in a large vat for 12 months.

Tasting Note: 2017 - Aromas of blackberry, black plum, cherry, pomegranate with hints of cocoa, licorice, oak spice, mineral on the nose. Rich and with great depth on the palate, juicy dark berried fruit with spices, good acidity, fine chalky tannin, medium to full body, a long spicy finish. Exquisite.
