Berceau Des Fées

Chenin Blanc from young vines in highly prized cru of Roche Aux Moines, next to Coulée de Serrant. The area is southwest facing with schist soils with some sandstone and clay. Fermentation with wild yeast in tank with some aging on lees in tank, minimal sulphur at bottling only. The name Le Berceau des Fees (Cradle of Fairies) refers to actual row of trees in the vineyard creating a circle or “cradle” which is illustrated on the label.

Tasting Note: Aromas of quince, apple, pear, lemon with hints of honey, camomile, chalk mineral on the nose. Fresh and bright on the palate, great core of orchard and citrus fruit, zippy acidity, good richness, great energy, rounded texture, a note of citrus peel on the finish.
